Fayose under intense pressure from Ekiti Citizens to resign.

In what can be termed a total showdown on the embattled governor of Ekiti State Peter Ayodele Fayose, thousands of Ekiti citizens took to the street to demand his immediate resignation over what they termed the mismanagement of Ekiti state resources and alleged link to the controversial Dasukigate scam in which the sum of $2.1bn was shared politically, and Fayose being one of the beneficiaries.  A resident who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said the governor had successfully brought shame to Ekiti state by dragging the name of the state in the mud. He also said the governor had been running a secret government as none of his financial income and expenditure remains secret. He further said that in a sane clan, a person like Ayodele Fayose instead of fighting to the gutters should have honourably resigned his position and defend his name rather than fighting dirty. "This is not what Ekiti state is knownot for. I continue to disagree with people that Fayemiwas not defeated by Fayose but for the massive rigging and political high handedness that took place during the elections.  Now we have someone who is nothing but a thug ruling over a lot of educated people. If this is a punishment from God to us, may God have mercy " he said. He however advised the governor to do the needful by submitting himself  to investigation rather than discrediting and defacing the anti-graft agency which is now very proactive with handling of criminal cases. Fayose should stop misinforming the people and inciting the youths against the federal government.  He should come to equity with clean hands and stop playing to the gallery.
A lot of placards were being held by the protestants demanding the governors resignation. It was the most massive protest ever in the history of the state.
