The All Progressives Congress ( APC) deputy governorship candidate in Edo  State has said that  the factional governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Ize-Iyamu, supervised hoodlums and thugs on a rampage against people and vehicles , destroying the billboards of Godwin Obaseki and Philip Shaibu in the Jattu central market of Etsako West  and Central local Government Areas.

Philip Shaibu disclosed this when he visited the victims of the attack in the hospital yesterday.

According to Philip Shaibu the scenario became worse that residents who challenged this act of wanton vandalisation were attacked and beaten by the thugs.

He said, “It is worst that Ize Iyamu was in the motorcade as his henchmen attacked persons and APC branded vehicle with a ferocity that almost claimed lives.
Ize-Iyamu’s security details got in the unfortunate action

The mayhem unfolded yesterday, when the PDP thugs sighted APC branded vehicle driving through the Jattu - Auchi and started stoning and got the wild screen damage and hon. Theophilius Momoh an occupant of the vehicle injured.
They did the same at Iviavhe quarters in Fugar, his thugs decided to punish chief Asada Ambrose who recently defected from his Party, PDP to APC., the thugs attacked APC supporters and campaign vehicles. Emmanuel Abu and Festus Okenemhe Iyogwoya were attacked, beaten and injured by the thugs.

Having unleashed violence, Ize-Iyamu and his party has been using every available platform to deflect blame on to the APC, who have been busy enthusing and engaging the good people of Edo North with our message of change while Ize-Iyamu is reveling in anarchy.
Hon. Philip Shaibu has been warning for weeks that the factional PDP candidate has chosen a strategy of violence as the best guarantee against their imminent defeat in the september 2016 election.

The former NANS president is calling on INEC and the security agencies to firmly stop Ize-Iyamu from upsetting the peace and turning Edo state into a theatre of war.
"Election is a civilised contest and we cannot allow Ize-Iyamu to turn his impending defeat into an inferno for everyone"

“Finally, we call on the good people of Edo North to remain calm and avoid any provocation. We will insist that this election is conducted in an atmosphere of peace and orderliness.
