US House of Representatives resolves to impeach Donald J. Trump

The vote to table the motion for the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump of the United States has sailed through the house of representatives of the United States with the majority vote of 23 in favour of the Democratic party lawmakers. The voting process lasted for fifteen minutes saw Democratic party scoring 211 votes in favour of the adoption while the Republican party of POTUS scored 188 votes. The vote was consequently adopted in line with section 755 of the constitution and in line with the extant house rules which gives no room for a point of order.
The impeachment adoption was monitored on Facebook live broadcast of the BBC news by Naija Metro Updates senior editor, which had about more than 13,000 online viewers.
However, the adoption is expected to be forwarded to the US Senate for impeachment proceeding via majority vote.

As at the time of filing this report, debate was still ongoing 'for ' and 'against' among Democratic lawmakers and Republican lawmakers. The republican lawmakers were of the view that the impeachment proceedings were faulty and did not give the president nor republican house members their required say and defence.
