INEC declares Godwin Obaseki of APC winner of Edo Guber.

                           Godwin Obaseki
                      Edo State Governor-Elect

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Godwin Obaseki as Edo State Governor Elect in a keenly contested election. Mr Obaseki polled the total votes of 319,483 to defeat his closest opponent Pastor Ize Iyamu of Peoples Democratic Party who polled the total votes of 253,173.

Mr Obaseki coasted to victory having scored 51.4% of total votes cast at the polls, while Mr. Iyamu scored 40.7% (approximately 41%) of the total votes cast.

Naija Metro Updates survey conducted by our respondents had predicted that Mr. Obaseki would likely garner up to 59% of the total votes but without underestimating other contestants as a result of which the votes could be affected. However, our prediction of Mr. Iyamu turns out a perfect prediction as 40.7% was garnered by him as against our 41% prediction which only negated by( -0.30%). This goes to show the reliability of our exit polls and Naija Metro Updates wishes to commend our team of correspondents for a job well done.

We say a BIG congratulations to Mr. Godwin Obaseki of APC.

Below is the link to our survey analysis that predicted Mr. Obaseki's victory.
